Following South Africa’s Duckworth/Lewis clinching of the series, a demoralised Sri Lankan outfit came back to claim their first victory in a hard fought tie in Kimberley. The Sri Lankans were looking down the barrel of another loss 30 overs into the South African innings, but managed to take wickets at crucial stages and didn’t give the South Africans an opportunity to run away with the game early on.Saturday, 21 January 2012

Goal Frenzy Expected At The Emirates
Arsenal vs Manchester United, Sunday 22nd January, 18:00, Emirates Stadium
Manchester United were the big winners last weekend as Tottenham and Arsenal failed to pick up wins. United are now 2 points clear of Tottenham but face a tough task of keeping 2nd position as they travel to the Emirates to face old rivals Arsenal this weekend. Few can forget the humbling that the Gunners suffered at the hands of United earlier this season, and one suspects that a spot of vengeance will be on their minds.

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur - Sunday 22 January, Etihad Stadium (15:30)
The English Premier League has gone beyond the half way mark and from here on out it is a sprint to the finish. This is a top of the table clash as 1st takes on 3rd. Both teams are genuine title contenders and they will be looking to put a dent in each other’s title pursuit. Can Tottenham reverse the 5-1 drumming they received at White Hart Lane with a big win here?Weekend Sports Preview
Weekend Sports Preview - 19th January - 22nd January 2012
It's the weekend baby, and what a action packed few days do we have in stall for you! All eyes will turn to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon for the opening round of the AFCON 2012, and everyone will be wondering if Ivory Coast can prove their ranking as the number 1 ranked African team. There's the Cape Flying Championship at Kenilworth to decide who is the best sprinter in the land over a 1000m, and I'd 8-2 be an Arsenal supporter with the prospect of facing Man United this weekend. Catch all these previews and more right here! All articles taken from Hollywood's bi-weekly Newsletter - Hollywood NewsFlash!

The Humana Challenge - PGA Tour
The Humana Challenge, 19 January- 22 January, La Quinta, California
The Humana Challenge is a re-incarnation of the old Bob Hope Challenge, which was never well supported and consistently drew a poor field. Changes to the format have increased the field and this week a host of top names will tee off in the California Desert. However the tournament is notorious for upsets and it is rare that favourites are in the Top 5 come Sunday. Last year Jonny Vegas exploded onto the scene with a win and started off at any price. This weekend focus will be on the big prices…. Let’s try find the value.

The Volvo Golf Champions, 19 January- 22 January, Fancourt
The final week in South Africa sees a small field tee off at the magnificent Fancourt in George. The majority of attendees are European Tour winners although a host of the big names have once again decided to sit this one out in preparation for Abu Dhabi next week. A tough course layout has traditionally meant fairly high scores so don’t expect anyone to shoot the lights out here. Rather, consistency will be rewarded and that’s where I’ll be focusing my attention. A field of 35 means only 4 places are paid here this weekend.

England 7/4 to push Pakistan all the way
Pakistan vs England, 1st Test, 17th - 21st January 2012, 07:30
The last time these two sides met in 2010, three men were sent to jail for lengthy sentences. The spot-fixing scandal involving three prominent Pakistani cricketers has served to cast an ominous shadow over the test series to come. Although both teams insist there is no bad blood, and that the scandal has been well and truly left in the past, any occurrences within the game that seem out of place are bound to receive a raised eyebrow from players and fans alike. If this ups the intensity of the matches or incites some witty banter out in the middle then this adds to the excitement.

South Africa vs Sri Lanka, 3rd ODI, Tuesday 17th January, 14:00, Chevrolet Park
After a relatively docile encounter in East London, the Proteas find themselves 2-up in the 5-match series. Anyone who proclaims test cricket to be boring needs to watch the second ODI between these two nations. It’s not that there weren’t some very good individual performances, neither was it that any team played particularly negatively. It played out as the stock standard ODI’s of old, before the advent of T20 cricket. Careful planning and stroke play in the middle overs, consolidation after the fall of early wickets and the nudging of singles was the order of the day.
