The penultimate ODI starts with the series wide open, both teams striving to gain the upper hand. The match-weary Australians are struggling to find continuity in the series, while the hosts are playing with a West Indian swagger that was long since considered absent from their game. So what can we expect from this possible series decider?Thursday, 22 March 2012

New Zealand vs South Africa 3rd Test Preview
New Zealand vs South Africa, 3rd Test, 23rd - 27th March, 23:30, Basin Reserve
South Africa have won the battle, but have not yet won the war. Their Black-capped counterparts are still in with a chance of sneaking a drawn series, but will have to overcome a Protea outfit that has bettered them at every turn. Will the dreary and gloomy weather of the New Zealand summer prove to be a symbol of the New Zealand team, or will they find a ray of sunshine to pierce through the ominous South African cloud that looms above them?

Bangladesh vs Pakistan Asia Cup Final Preview
Bangladesh vs Pakistan, Asia Cup Final, Thursday 24th March, 10:30
In previous years, this fixture would’ve been thought of as a foregone conclusion. Indeed, it would’ve been difficult to imagine Bangladesh making the final of this prestigious tournament amid such giants of the subcontinent. They face Pakistan in their final challenge on Thursday, a match that could see a turnaround in the perception of Bangladeshi cricket.

Trophee Hassan II, European Tour, 22nd March - 25th March, 08:00, Agadir
When you think of Morocco I doubt you think of golf, but since 2010 it has played host to the Trophee Hassan II. Played on two courses, the Golf du Palais Royal and the Golf de l’Ocean, the €1.5 million prize money on offer has drawn a fair field including defending champion David Horsey and the in form Jaco van Zyl. Who has it in them to win this one? Let’s see...

Arnold Palmer Invitational, PGA Tour, 22nd March - 25th March, 13:00, Bay Hill
This weekend a top notch field will tee off at the demanding Dick Wilson designed Bay Hill. Ranked amongst the most difficult courses on tour, length off the tee is a huge advantage but this needs to be combined with a high degree of accuracy as the slightest slip up could end up in the thick Bermuda rough. A solid GIR percentage will be of assistance but it’s not the be all and end all here. I’m going to look at some of the bigger names in the sport this week, the demanding course deserves a bit of respect.

Rangers vs Celtic Preview
Rangers vs Celtic, SPL, Sunday 25 March, 14:00, Ibrox
Glasgow will be divided into blue and green this Sunday as the Old Firm Derby between Rangers and Celtic takes place at Ibrox. Previously, at this stage of the season this derby would have had a direct bearing on the SPL championship but Rangers’ recent financial problems, coupled with some poor performances from unpaid players have left "The Gers" 21 points off their fiercest rivals, ten points of which were docked for going into administration. This derby represents more than just a football match. Historically this match pits religion, politics and opposing social attitudes against each other. These sides have dominated the Scottish League and between them have won 96 League Championships, 67 Cups and 41 League Cups.

Chelsea vs Tottenham, EPL, Saturday 24th March, 14:45, Stamford Bridge
Chelsea and their caretaker manager Roberto Di Matteo are riding the crest of a wave and will feel rather confident as they welcome arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur for a London Derby showdown at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Such has been the Blues’ change in fortunes that they enjoyed a kind draw against Benfica in the quarter final of the UEFA Champions League last Friday, thereby avoiding the ‘big four’. Just three weeks ago the Londoners were in total disarray, battling on all fronts and enduring a painful defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns. That seems a long time ago now, as they have won four on the trot under Di Matteo, three of which came in cup competitions whilst the lone league win was a painstaking effort against an organised ten-man Stoke City outfit.

West Indies vs Australia 3rd ODI Preview
West Indies vs Australia, 3rd ODI, Tuesday 20th March, 15:30
A rain affected match at Kingstown on Sunday saw the West Indies prevail and square the series up at one match apiece. Recording their first ODI victory over Australia since 2006, the West Indies will now believe that they have a chance at taking the series, something they haven’t done against Australia since 1995. However, the West Indies need to go about it one step at a time, so what do we have in store for us in the next step?

Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup, Match 6, Tuesday 20th March, 10:00
The Asia Cup has come down to the wire, and who will meet the Pakistani’s in the final hangs on the outcome of this match. There has been some phenomenal cricket in the tournament thus-far, and with Bangladesh able to challenge anyone in the tournament, this encounter is not as foregone a conclusion as it once may have been.
