This weekend we are finally relieved from all the meaningless football being played at the moment, with the long and arduous road to Brazil 2014 starting for most teams. I have picked my battles a bit more wisely than last week, where I was a bit haphazard, which ultimately cost me dearly. It was once again “Ze Germans” that made off with my well-earned cash as they capitulated in Switzerland. I hope for my sake that it was a once off and they don’t repeat the feat in Poland (again that is). With not much value to be found in Africa, I’ve returned (perhaps unwisely) to the international friendlies, with one or two WC Qualifiers thrown in for good measure. Enough of this now, let’s get stuck in.

Comrades 2011 - Looking Back
Comrades 2011 - Blast From The Past!
With all the hours of training, early morning wake ups, and vigorous discipline, Comrades 2012 finally gets underway this Sunday! Although we will not be offering betting this year, we will be running a monster water stand at this year's race! This will be Hollywood's third year in participating at the race, and we will have over 250 volunteers supporting our runners this year! Here are some photos from last years race to get everyone in the mood! Look out for the Purple Train and all the best to this year's runners!

Week after week, the sporting world seems to serve up something more delightful than the previous one. This past week saw the Kolkata Knight Riders get crowned the IPL champions for 2012, after a last over win saw them sneak the title from the Chennai Super Kings. Mark Webber won the F1 Monaco Grand Prix, making it three wins in a row for Red Bull at Monaco. Barcelona destroyed Athletic Bilbao to take the Spanish Copa Del Rey, giving Pep Guardialo a fantastic send-off after a successful tenure for the Spanish giants. And Luke Donald regained the number 1 world ranking after successfully defending his BMW PGA Championship crown with a four stroke victory. Let's see what this week has in store for us...
