Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: MAESTRALE(1)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Cliffie MILLER

MAESTRALE has had some decent sprint efforts in KZN and now makes his local debut. He meets a moderate line-up and should be very competitive if handling this surface.

Race 2: KHULUMA(1)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Cliffie MILLER

KHULUMA clearly needed his comeback run and will be a much fitter horse today. He showed some decent form over this c & d prior to his long break but meets a very weak field here and should go well.

Race 3: SUCCESS(5) - TOP BET
Jockey: Donovan YEO - Trainer: Coerie LENSLEY

SUCCESS is a long-time maiden but such is the quality of this field that she could finally exit the maiden ranks. She has shown promise since relocating to Flamingo Park and more importantly she stays the mile comfortably and is in fact even better over further.

Race 8: SUDDEN SURPRISE(2)
Jockey: Fanie CHAMBERS - Trainer: Tienie PRINSLOO

SUDDEN SURPRISE has improved in his last two starts and was running on well for a decent fourth over the minimum trip behind Swing Away, last week. He finished half a length behind third placed STARFIRE but handles this extra furlong well and should have the latter's measure.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 5: BEEPBEEP(11) (Each Way)
Jockey: Evert PHEIFFER - Trainer: Vernon RUGG

The Vernon Rugg stable holds a strong hand in this event but the lesser fancied BEEPBEEP could be the right one. He has come good in his last two starts and was far from disgraced when third after setting a cracking pace over this c & d, a week ago. He takes on much stronger this time around but it is worth noting that he stayed on to finish third, beaten just under two lengths behind today's stable elect BOOGY BOY over this c & d in his penultimate outing and is now 1kg better off. The son of Pissaro shoulders a light mass of 52kgs here and should be very competitive.
