Race 1: LA FLAMME(9)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Phillip SMITH

LA FLAMME has a cracking record of three close seconds in as many outings over this c & d. It comes asa bit of a surprise that her trainer has opted for blinkers but if that headgear has the desired effect, she should doddle in today.

Jockey: Louis NHLAPO - Trainer: Dennis CASON

CALL FOR CHANGE caught the eye with a strong late run for second on his comeback outing over this c & d, three weeks ago. He was well beaten into second that day but the blinkers certainly seemed to do the trick and he will strip a much fitter horse today. There should again be plenty of speed in this contest and he has strong claims of going one better.

Nooresh Juglall
Jockey: Nooresh JUGLALL - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

RADIANT ROCK lacked a strong finish when third on his local debut over 2200m in a feature last time. The experience of racing on this course will stand him in good stead this time around and the drop in trip suits him perfectly. He takes a huge drop in class and can pull this off despite his big mass.

Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Jannie BORMAN

LITTLE SWAN has been given a new lease on life since relocating to Kimberley. She has won two of her four local starts and had a great sprint over six furlongs last time that would sharpened her up for this contest. She won a very good contest over this c & d in her penultimate outing and had ICE KITTEN four lengths adrift of her on that occasion. She is 2kgs worse off with the latter this time around but that should still not be enough to reverse the form.

Race 9: WISPER THE WIND(14) (Each Way)
Jockey: Jarrid PENNY - Trainer: Hennie KOTZE

WISPER THE WIND has failed to live up to expectations on the Highveld and has changed stables and relocated to Kimberley. Interestingly though, she wasn't disgraced when managing fifth in novice company over the minimum trip on the inside course in her final start in Gauteng. She placed once on the Vaal sand which is pleasing and she shoulders a light mass of just 48kgs today, thanks largely to the 4kgs apprentice claim. Having said all that, it is worth noting that she thumped JOLLY ALONG when the pair met in Gauteng in the maidens, just over one year ago.
