Race 1: TUSCAN(2)
Jockey: !Semela F - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

TUSCAN took to the Highveld extremely well as he produced his career best outing over 1450m in yield- ing conditions on the inside track last time. He was drawn very wide in an eleven horse contest but finished strongly for second, beaten half a length at the wire. Admittedly, that wasn't the strongest of fields but he would have come on further from that effort and has strong claims of recording his first win. He gets the services of an in-form workrider that recently claimed the latest workrider's series.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Sean TARRY

THE MONEY SHOT has shown promising form but clearly found seven furlongs too short for him when he only got going late for third last time. He was gaining at the finish when beaten a neck over the mile in his penultimate outing and gives the impression that this ten furlong trip will suit him extremely well. His jockey knows him well and he could be the right one in a competitive field.

Race 3: MAEVE(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Donavan MANSOUR - Trainer: Alec LAIRD

MAEVE represents the stronger formline and she herself has shown plenty of promise and has finished runner-up in her last three starts. She had excuses before staying on for second behind juvenile winner Santa Clarita over the mile at Turffontein last time and has plenty of scope for improvement. She is the form runner here and could take some beating. The only slight concern is her wide draw of 15.

Race 5: HONORINE(5)
Jockey: Julius MARIBA - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

HONORINE is a top class sort that unfortunately has her issues. She has twice been rested during her five-start career and now returns from a 28 week break after her worst career effort in a feature over seven furlongs last time out. She had cracking form prior to that and beat older rivals whilst still a juvenile. Her trainer usually gets his runners fit after a break and she has strong claims of making a winning comeback in this field.

Race 7: ABBOTTSBURY(11) (Each Way)
Jockey: Akash AUCHARUZ - Trainer: Brett WARREN

There are many speedsters in this contest and that will ensure a cracking pace. ABBOTTSBURY is nearing seven years of age but has come to life in recent outings and more importantly has struck up a fine relationship with this young 2.5kgs claiming apprentice. He has won three of his last seven starts and was impressive when he ran on smartly to beat some useful sorts over six furlongs on this course last time. He only picked up a three pound penalty and seems to have a definite affinity for this course. The drop to the minimum trip is a slight concern but he has a strong finish and the likely blistering pace is sure to suit him.
