Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: IN THE FAST LANE(5) - TOP BET
Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

IN THE FAST LANE defied her odds when she produced an eye-catching debut over this distance at Kenilw- orth, two weeks ago. She was far back when turning for home but finished strongly over the final furlong for fourth, beaten just under four lengths. She was obviously under-prepared on that occasion so should have tons of natural improvement to come. The obvious concern is how she will handle this tight track but she will be aided by a handy draw and Fayd'Herbe and could prove too good for today's rivals.

Race 2: CAPTAIN REI(4)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Stan ELLEY

CAPTAIN REI showed good improvement last time when he stayed on for second behind the heavily support- ed Nordic Warrior over six furlongs. He may have just needed that outing after returning from a brief break so will strip much fitter today. He lacked experience of racing around the turn when unplaced in his penultimate outing but will be better equipped this time around and is a major contender here. He has drawn well at barrier 3 and that is a huge advantage on this course.

Race 3: ADOREYOUTOO(4)
Jockey: Denise LEE - Trainer: Glen PULLER

ADOREYOUTOO has had his fair share of chances but he has shown some decent form to date. He relished the heavy track conditions last time when he finished powerfully for a close third over this trip at Kenilworth, despite jumping awkwardly at the gates. He will again benefit from a 2.5kgs apprentice claim and is effective on this course.

Race 6: WAVIN' FLAG(6)
Jockey: Girish GOOMANY - Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

WAVIN' FLAG is an improving sort and could turn into a very useful stayer. He showed his love for this trip when he finished powerfully to win his maiden going away from hard-knocking maiden campaigners at Kenilworth last time out. The son of Silvano has lots of scope for improvement and despite him taking on considerably stronger today, he shoulders a light mass of just 51kgs and could make a winning handicap debut. The obvious issue is whether he will handle this course.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 4: SANGSTER(6) (Each Way)
Jockey: Glen HATT - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

As expected, SANGSTER has improved with racing and especially as he has gone over ground. He produced a career best effort when he made late progress to finish just out of the money in yielding conditions over a mile last time. The son of High Chaparral should love every bit of today's extra distance and should have lots of further improvement to come. The slight worry is that he returns from a short break.
