Race 5: ENDLESS JOY(15)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Francois HERHOLDT - Trainer: Steven V/RENSBURG

TAIPAI TIGRESS is a smart sort and proved that with a cracking debut effort when she went down narrow- ly in a feature over this trip at Fairview. Her next feature start was poor but she took on male rivals that day and she just didn't see out the mile in her last outing. This drop in trip will suit her perfectly and despite this being a competitive field, she could take a power of beating. She raced handy last time so this track shouldn't be a major issue for the daughter of Tiger Dance.

Race 3: MY JELLY BEAN(1)
Jockey: Luyolo MXOTHWA - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

The Snaith yard hold a very strong hand here and MY JELLY BEAN could take some beating at the weights. The son of Announce promised plenty during his juvenile career but then failed to deliver when he relocated to the Cape. However, he bounced back to form when narrowly beaten on his local debut at Fairview, two weeks ago, before failing to quicken over 1300m, last time out. That said, he had poor draws to contend with on both those occasions but will be cherry-ripe today and is possibly best over the minimum trip. He has this race at his mercy at the weights and his chances are further enhanced by a 2.5kgs claiming apprentice. His stablemate FOREST FIGHTER could follow him home.

Race 6: THE SHARK(2)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

This is another intriguing contest and only the short run-in can beat THE SHARK today. The six-year old gelding is yet to win locally but he has done more than enough against some quality local rivals. He is ideally distance suited and was pipped in yielding conditions over this trip in his penultimate outing. He finished well for a close sixth over seven furlongs on this course last time but is much better drawn this time around and can earn that well deserved first local win.

Race 7: MING WARRIOR(11)
Jockey: Gareth WRIGHT - Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM

MING WARRIOR took on too much at the weights at graduation level last time and flopped from a wide draw over ten furlongs, prior to that. However, he had decent form on this track before that and won a good contest over this c & d, three runs back. The son of Miesque's Approval is again drawn in pole today and should be very competitive against this class of opposition.

Race 4: ANATALYA(13) (Each Way)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

An intriguing contest that features some form horses but they raced around this tight turn and things could get very interesting. The runner that could enjoy the turn and the short run-in is the speedy daughter of Silvano, ANATALYA. She faded badly after flashing her speed and pulling in a feature over ten furlongs but the drop in trip will prove ideal for her. She would have needed that comeback run and will strip much fitter today. She is handily drawn and can cause an upset with her light mass.
