Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: WIN A MILLION(15)
Jockey: Robbie FRADD - Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

WIN A MILLION is highly regarded by his conditioner. He caught the eye with an excellent debut third in a feature over 1100m in yielding conditions at Turffontein in late March but then flopped badly in a Grade 1 next time out. He was given the necessary time off by his trainer during the winter and looks set to have a bright three-year old campaign. He takes a huge drop in class to maiden company today and would have strengthened nicely. The obvious concern is that he tries the sand for the first time but his trainer's horses usually go well here and he could take a power of beating.

Race 4: NOBLE WIND(3)
Jockey: Marthinus MIENIE - Trainer: Coenie DE BEER

NOBLE WIND is a long time maiden but she has always shown her best form on this course. She was close- up in her last two starts despite racing twice inside two days. Her trainer has given her a well earn- ed three week break since that last effort. Of course, she ran on powerfully for second over the mile on this course last time and has a big chance of going one better. Her record shows that she is yet to place over this trip but she has in fact finished 4th on a few occasions. Her wide draw isn't a worry as she usually races from well off the pace.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

SAVANNAH MONTANA put her best foot forward when she finished strongly to win going away over the minimum trip on this course, three weeks ago. She didn't beat much but accelerated nicely over the final furlong and does seem to have escaped with only a three pound penalty. She has won over this extra furlong and does meet a similar field. She has a midfield draw and could take some beating with Strydom retaining the ride.

Jockey: Robbie FRADD - Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

PIGEON POWER has relished life on the sand and she tore her opposition to pieces with an emphatic 8.50 lengths victory over this c & d, three weeks ago. It came as no surprise that she received the maximum eight pound penalty but still the daughter of Bezrin seems to be ahead of the handicapper. She is drawn in midfield and should have little issues with this slight rise in class.

Race 5: AUTHENTICATED(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Franklin MALEKING - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

A very low key handicap but AUTHENTICATED need only produce his promising second in a graduation plate over this c & d in his penultimate outing and he will be very tough to beat. The son of Muhtafal once again teams up with his 4kgs claiming apprentice. His faded tamely over the minimum trip in his last start but could be a totally different proposition around the turn today. He jumps from a handy draw.
