Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Doug CAMPBELL

THE LONSDALE has improved nicely with each of his three starts and he has plenty more to offer. The son of Mogok did things the hard way when racing wide last time but was only outrun late into 2nd over this c & d. He has his third run after the layoff today and should go very close in this line-up. His good draw is a major plus.

Race 3: THE KING'S HAND(6)
Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

THE KING'S HAND has shown lots of promise on this track and he was rather unfortunate not to have won his last run over 1900m, two weeks ago. He clipped heels at a crucial stage that day and although he recovered quickly, he was outrun late into 2nd by a rank outsider. The son of Rebel King should continue to improve with racing and despite a wide draw, he will go very close in this field.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Sean TARRY

EMPIRE OF THE MOON has done well since racing on this surface in her last three outings. The six-year old mare has finished well in all those efforts and she has rather strangely been docked a pound in her rating. Her record shows that this trip will be ideal and the stable has engaged a top class jockey. The daughter of Second Empire is no stranger to shouldering big masses and she should take a power of beating in this ordinary line-up.

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

WEST COAST STAR prefers racing without blinkers and she bounced right back to her best when a solid last effort behind a decent sort. She tried hard when outrun late into 2nd over 1900m on this track that evening and will prefer this drop to the mile. The daughter of Mullins Bay is much better drawn tonight and she can go close in this line-up.

Jockey: Sean VEALE - Trainer: Paul GADSBY

There are a few very speedy sorts in this competitive handicap and the likely blistering pace could suit the runners who come from off the speed. YESAN STAR took a long time to shed his maiden tag but he has really taken to the polytrack and has struck up a fine partnership with Sean Veale. He makes up plenty of ground in the closing stages and won a decent five furlong contest, three weeks ago. The son of Miesque's Approval has gone very close over this extra furlong before and he seems rather lowly rated on his handicap debut. Moreover, he is well drawn and has a low mass of 54kgs.
