Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

GRIM REAPER is lightly raced and he had excuses for his below-par last effort over the minimum trip. He also may have needed the outing after returning from a break but showed exactly what he is capable of when going close over this c & d, prior to that. The Snaith inmate has scope for further improveme- nt and he should be competitive in this opening event.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

SIMMERING showed a welcome return to form when he made steady progress for 4th over a mile, six weeks ago. The runner-up and 3rd placed finisher of that outing fought out a titanic duel to the wire at this venue last Friday which boosts the formline. The Greeff inmate had his career best effort over this c & d on the first day of the new season and he can definitely build on that last run. His good draw is an obvious plus.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

The five-year old mare SET ME FREE seems most effective on the grass and she got her career back on track with an encouraging last display. She was caught late by ENDEARMENT over this c & d that day but is now 1.5kgs better off with her conqueror and she jumps from a better draw. She gets the stable jockey Fourie in the irons and can reverse that form.

Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

The Vaughan Marshall stable is again well represented and their charge MAN FROM MILAN appears a stand- out in this novice contest. The recently gelded son of Antonius Pius bounced right back to his best when he finished strongly for 2nd behind a quality sort over this trip at Kenilworth, last Saturday. He is well treated by today's weights and if the travelling and the run doesn't come too soon for him, he will take a power of beating from his good draw. He has had the benefit of racing around the right hand turn before.

Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

SAIL INTOTHECLOUDS has shown some ability over sprints and her comeback run was eye-catching. The daughter of Sail From Seattle showed pace in the early stages of that five furlong trip and after dropping hopelessly out of contention, she ran on again at the finish and was beaten just over two lengths at the finish. That outing certainly suggests that she is searching for further and her conditioner has wasted little time in obliging. She will strip fitter and has only raced around the turn which is a big plus. The Bremner inmate should be very competitive from her handy draw.
