Jockey: Marthinus MIENIE - Trainer: VON WILLINGH

The stable companions KIRTLING TOWERS and ROUSSEAU have the best credentials in this pinnacle stakes event and the pair could dominate the outcome. The former has a solid c & d record and he came right back to his best when he produced a strong late burst to win a similar event over this c & d in early October. He had the latter exactly two lengths adrift of him that day but is 4kgs better off. However, he gets the services of top visiting jockey Marthinus Mienie in the irons and has strong claims of following up. His stable is in decent form and his conditioner is renowned for bringing his runners back fit and well.

Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Tienie PRINSLOO

TRIUMVIRATE has produced two solid local performances and this could certainly be his day. He was drawn wide and had to play second fiddle to his stablemate over six furlongs last time but will prefer this drop to the minimum distance. The four-year old gelding had a solid penultimate run over this c & d and will enjoy the likely blistering gallop.

Jockey: Francois NAUDE - Trainer: Corne SPIES

WHITE WHISPER has gradually improved for her new yard and she made a pleasing local debut over six furlongs last Monday. She was second best on that occasion but this minimum trip suits her better and the experience of this track will stand her in good stead. She should be very competitive.

Jockey: Hennie GREYLING - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

This is another competitive event but the Dorrie Sham yard holds a decent hand with their five representatives. The riding engagements suggest that TUDOR STAR is the stable elect and the daughter of Captain Al gets the verdict. She is in good touch and has come back well from her 21 week break. She finished strongly for 2nd over six furlongs last time and was in turn 3.25 lengths ahead of the 3rd placed finisher. She clearly prefers this extra furlong though and should go very well from her handy draw.

Race 7: BAY ROUTE(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Deon SAMPSON - Trainer: Bill HUMAN

This is a moderate low-key handicap but the value could lie with the top weight BAY ROUTE from the Bill Human yard. The eight-year old has improved his formline in recent outings and he drops heavily in class today. He was making steady progress in his last two runs, the latest in a pinnacle contest over this c & d, last Monday. Interestingly, he was docked a further two pounds in his rating and can take full advantage of that.
