Jockey: Alec FORBES - Trainer: Alistair GORDON

MAMBO MASTER has produced two promising runs thus far and has lots of potential for more. He has the nasty tendency to be slow into stride but he ran on nicely for 2nd on his debut over six furlongs on this track. He was returning from a nine week absence when he stayed on well to finish 3rd in his comeback run over this trip on the grass, two weeks ago. The Alistair Gordon inmate will strip fitter and he should go very close from his handy barrier. Of course, it will help if he jumps on terms.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Robbie HILL

COUNT ZAFONIC was carded to race at Scottsville on Tuesday so his progress there must be monitored. He has improved his formline since trying the polytrack and he stayed on strongly to dead-heat for 3rd over this c & d, five weeks ago. That was his first start in blinkers and the headgear remains on the son of Count Dubois tonight. He should have loads more improvement to come and merits healthy respect with Delpech in the irons.

Jockey: Athandiwe MGUDLWA - Trainer: Sean TARRY

CITY OF ATHENS showed a welcome return to form when she tried this surface, two weeks ago. The Sean Tarry inmate found outside betting support over this c & d that day and she stayed on well for 3rd, beaten just over two lengths, despite racing wide. She meets a similar line-up but that experience of this course would have helped and she has strong claims in this field.

Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

BEAUTIFUL JET thrives in KZN and she made a welcome return to form when she ran on well to be 2nd best on her polytrack debut over seven furlongs, five weeks ago. The Yogas Govender inmate was returning from a 23 week absence so she will strip much fitter and should enjoy tonight's extra furlong. Her good draw is a definite plus.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

This is a competitive maiden contest but the value could lie with AFREETA from the Mike de Kock yard. This daughter of Fort Wood was slow into stride and raced green on her moderate debut over six furlongs on this track in early November. She followed up that performance with a much improved second out when she was beaten just under three lengths over a mile, two weeks later. The chestnut filly lacked a strong finish in that latest effort and perhaps tonight's drop in trip will be favourable for her. She has lots of room for improvement but unfortunately has another wide barrier to deal with.
