Jockey: MJ BYLEVELD - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

DANCE IN THE WOODS had excuses for her below-par last effort over a mile but her previous form shows that she is much better than that. She showed lots of determination and finished a close 3rd, beaten only a neck by subsequent winners over this c & d in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Elusive Fort will prefer today's slight drop in trip and she should bounce back to best, if jumping on terms. Her handy draw will then come into good effect.

Jockey: Corne ORFFER - Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

SAIL SOUTH made a fair seasonal debut over the minimum trip recently and he will strip much fitter today. He was disappointing in his penultimate run in a listed feature in KZN during the winter but showed his true ability when he easily beat EXELERO over this trip, prior to that. The Brett Crawford inmate meets the latter on 1.5kgs worse terms but he is the fitter and should be competitive in this field.

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

There are many classy fillies and mares in this Grade 3 contest and a thrilling finish has to be on the cards. The Justin Snaith stable is well represented and their charge ACROSTAR is selected to complete what will be a classy hat-trick. This daughter of Danehill Dancer was pipped by her stable companion JET SUPREME in last season's Grade 3 Final Fling Stakes over this c & d and she has come out all guns blazing since.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

DE SOL A SOL failed to quicken when finishing a rather disappointing 2nd over nine furlongs last time. She is certainly capable of better and this drop to the mile could be crucial. The daughter of Tiger Ridge showed her mettle when she drew off to record an impressive victory over this c & d in her penultimate outing. She now has her third run after the rest and should again be very competitive at this level. She has the early speed to overcome her wide barrier.

Jockey: Christopher PULLER - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

MISTER MATCHETT appears to have improved since the gelding at the start of the new season. He produced a smart turn of foot to win his comeback run over six furlongs and then ran on late for 4th, beaten just over three lengths by IN THE CRUISE over this c & d, three weeks ago. The four-year old Badger's Drift gelding now meets his conqueror on 2.5kgs better weight terms but more importantly has his third run after the layoff. He shoulders another big mass but this longer run-in will suit him well and he should be finishing strongly.
