Race 2: MUSIC APP(1)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

MUSIC APP has come on smartly with each of his three starts after an eleven week break and gelding. He has done particularly well in his last two c & d efforts and has lots of room for improvement. The son of Jay Peg stayed on well for 2nd in a competitive line-up recently and should go very close today.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

UPPER ECHELON has improved smartly with each of her three starts despite being poorly drawn. She has finally cracked a good barrier and the daughter of Captain Al can stake a huge claim in this field. She finished strongly when beaten just under half a length into 2nd over a mile on this track four weeks ago and the 3rd placed finisher franked that form with a subsequent effortless victory. The Yogas Govender inmate drops slightly in trip but her conditioner has cleverly equipped her with a pair of blinkers and she will take some beating, albeit in a competitive field. It is worth noting that she was three parts of a length in front of subsequent winner True Asset last time and another Kannemeyer inmate, ALZERRA could be her biggest threat today so that yard will have a decent line to work with.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Mike BASS

FLY BY NIGHT had her most successful season last term which culminated in her only Grade 1 victory. She was an expected winner of her seasonal debut over this c & d recently and will strip much fitter today. She should have no issues stepping up in grade and should give another very good account of herself.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The brilliant grey filly MAJMU quickly got back to winning ways with a super last performance on the Highveld. She conceded chunks of weight to some top quality rivals but thrashed them over the seven furlongs at Turffontein, five weeks ago. The daughter of Redoute's Choice obviously loved the long run in and the mile should be right up her alley. She oozes class and her rating tells the full story. She would have had plenty of time to acclimatize and should take a power of beating on her third run after a break. The only grey area is that she races around the left hand turn for the first time.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The Ramsden yard holds a decent hand in this staying handicap but SILVER IMAGE could be the right one. This son of Silvano hasn't won for some time but he stays well and he clearly improved since being equipped with blinkers. He finished well for 4th, beaten just over two lengths by EVEN SO over this c & d last time but meets his conqueror on 2.5kgs better weight terms. This longer run-in will suit the gelding perfectly and he is a major threat with Cormack in the irons.
