Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

OVIDIO showed marked improvement when he produced his career best effort over this c & d, four weeks ago. He was gaining strongly at the finish that day and today's longer run-in will suit him perfectly. He has lots more room for improvement and should go very close in this opening contest.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

GOLDANDSILVER has got her confidence back after her impressive maiden victory and she followed that up when winning her handicap debut over this c & d, recently. She was penalized a hefty six pounds but is still lightly raced and meets a similar level of opposition now. The Glen Kotzen inmate has a big mass to shoulder but she has the class to reel off the hat-trick.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

BLACKMORE is improving quickly and he looks a smart sort in the making. He quickened well to win his maiden over this c & d in his penultimate start but was even more impressive on his handicap debut, four weeks ago. He was given a good ride from the front and was caught very late over seven furlongs that day. The son of Kahal has lots of scope for improvement and he should be very competitive in this field. That said, he meets more useful sorts and will be tested.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

DYNASTIC has shown lots of promise and he was given a great ride when he beat subsequent winner BUFFALO TRIP going away over this c & d, seven weeks ago. His conditioner has always rated the son of Dynasty and the switch to the longer run-in will suit the bay colt extremely well. He is 2kgs worse off with the latter but has huge scope for further improvement and is a really smart sort in the making. He will be up to the task of taking on his older handicap rivals.

Jockey: Xavier G CARSTENS - Trainer: Greg ENNION

PERPETUA has always shown decent ability and reverting to sprinting has been key. She produced a smart late burst to beat some useful sorts over the minimum trip, three weeks ago and is probably even better over this extra furlong. The daughter of Scarlet Letter benefitted from this apprentice's 2.5kgs claim and she has scope. She was handed a three pound penalty but has the class to be competitive against this higher level.
