Jockey: Marthinus MIENIE - Trainer: Alec LAIRD

There are some useful sorts on display in this opening leg of the Pick 6 but experience could be crucial in the final outcome. LUCA DELAGO has just that and he has found his best form in his last two starts. He pushed the odds-on favourite hard when finishing 2nd best over a mile on this track last time and tonight's drop in trip could be exactly what the son of Count Dubois requires. He has the early gate speed to overcome his wide draw and should go very close.

Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The three-year old THE CENTENARY has done extremely well since going over ground and she was beaten for the first time since joining the Mike de Kock team, in her last start. However, she did make all the running over the stiff ten furlongs that day and was only pegged back late by another smart sort. This daughter of Mastercraftsman is bred to stay all day and she could be way better over tonight's extra distance. In fact, she trounced her opposition over 2400m at the Vaal in a pinnacle plate in her penultimate start. She gets a top class jockey aboard this time around and despite taking on stronger, she could still take a power of beating with just 52.5kgs on her back.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

TEE JAY AR has come on nicely from his lengthy absence and he produced an eye-catching burst of speed when he easily beat his novice rivals over 1160m, ten days ago. He takes on considerably stronger tonight but the son of Flying Spur still has lots of scope for improvement and he will be even better over this extra furlong. His wide draw may not be a major issue as he races from off the pace and the Geoff Woodruff inmate will be making great inroads in the closing stages. He is clearly above-average and gets his chance to prove that.

Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

SCARLETT ICE has shown promise on the grass and she moved up menacingly before finishing a decent 3rd over a mile on this track, recently. She could appreciate tonight's slight drop in trip and there should be more improvement to come from the daughter of Black Minnaloushe. She is handily drawn in this big field and should be very competitive.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Johan Janse v/Vuuren

EUPHORIA's recent form looks dismal but she has been competing in feature company and wasn't totally disgraced after setting the pace over a mile in a graded event, recently. The daughter of Kahal is at her level-best up to seven furlongs and her last victory came over this c & d under Gavin Lerena in the early stages of this season. She isn't too badly out at the weights and should be very competitive in this conditions event. Her handy draw is the obvious plus. Her fellow four-year olds could give her most cheek.
