Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

MAGIC TRIP found betting support when he produced a cracking debut over 1160m at Turffontein, two weeks ago. He overcame a slow start and moved up menacingly before his lack of experience cost him victory. The Woodruff inmate is obviously a smart sort who shows great work back home and he would have come on with that run under his belt. The son of Trippi will have lots more to offer and he could take a power of beating.

Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA

WHATALADY is a quality sort who brings solid form into this competitive handicap. She was cramped at a crucial stage but still finished well for 2nd over this c & d and now has her third run after the layoff. The lightly raced daughter of Jet Master should go extremely close in this line-up.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Louis GOOSEN

DOING IT FOR DAN continues to show promise and he was rewarded for consistency when he kept going to win a similar handicap over this c & d, recently. Of course, he was beaten three parts of a length by today's rival DREAM LEADER in his penultimate start but did have an awkward start on that occasion. He is 4.5kgs worse off with his conqueror but has much more scope than the latter and with Strydom in the irons, he can reverse the form.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

PYRAMUS was reportedly not striding out when he tried the sand last time and he finished a below-par distant 3rd behind easy winner Smart Mart over the mile. He has a full six lengths to find on the runner-up CEDAR WOOD but reverting to the grass will be significant and the top selection can show exactly what he is capable of today. Of course, he had solid turf form prior to that last sand run and he was only caught late by subsequent Grade 2 placed French Navy, three starts ago.

Jockey: Marthinus MIENIE - Trainer: Stephen MOFFATT

SPUTNIK SWEETHEART returns to her favourite c & d and she is much better than her post maiden runs suggest. Having said that, she was outclassed in a feature last time but is clearly best down the straight for now and she drops heavily in class. The daughter of Admire Main has come down slightly in the ratings and she is certainly capable of upsetting. It is encouraging that Marthinus Mienie keeps faith with her.
