Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Grant PADDOCK

OTHER BRUDDA is holding his local form well and he is effective on both surfaces. He made hard work of trying to beat an ordinary line-up on the polytrack last time but could prefer racing without blinkers and is a definite contender here. Muzi Yeni sticks with the Rebel King gelding who had a decent local debut on the grass.

Race 7: BLAST(2)
Jockey: Stallone NAIDOO - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

There are some smart three-year old sprinters on display in this low-key handicap and they could fight things out. BLAST is well above-average and he brings good form into this event. He was perhaps moved on too soon when outrun late into 3rd over seven furlongs recently. The son of Windrush was an easy winner of his penultimate start over this c & d and he will be fitter today. The slight worry is that his jockey rides him for the first time today.

Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Tara LAING

CRUZWITHMECAPTAIN quickly got back to form as she challenged strongly before going down half a length into 2nd over seven furlongs on this course, two weeks ago. She is effective over this shorter trip and finished a creditable 4th, beaten 1.60 lengths by I GOT YOU BABE over this c & d in a similar contest, three runs back. She is 2kgs better off with her conqueror and should finish much closer.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

SHAUNTREL is unbeaten from two starts and appears a classy sort in the making. She produced a gutsy narrow debut win but showed her class when easily winning a novice contest over this c & d, next time out. The four-year old filly has plenty more to offer and she should go very well on her handicap debut. She represents an in-form combination.

Race 5: MILYNNE(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Stallone NAIDOO - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

MILYNNE didn't seem to enjoy the polytrack last time but showed what she is capable of with a good penultimate run over ten furlongs on this course. She isn't too badly in at the weights today and holds RARE STONE safe on that penultimate effort. The daughter of Rebel King will prefer this drop to the mile.
