Race 8: RED LABEL(3)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

MASKED GIRL showed big improvement when trying this surface, second time out. She ran on well for 3rd over six furlongs that day and is bred to appreciate this rise in trip. The daughter of Overlord has lots of scope for further improvement and she is drawn in pole position tonight. She represents an in- form combination and should go close.

Race 4: BRACHETTO(1)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Garth PULLER

BRACHETTO has shown useful ability, particularly on this track but he needed his disappointing comeba- ck run. Still, he was beaten just under two lengths that day and should strip a much fitter horse this time around. The Judpot gelding shows pace so this trip will suit him well and he should go close with Khumalo in the irons.

Race 5: NOOR DUBAI(8)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

NOOR DUBAI drifted alarmingly in the betting market but produced an eye-catching debut over this trip on the grass at Scottsville, recently. She was drawn on the unfavourable side of the course but ran on strongly for 2nd and was beaten just one length at the wire. The Mike de Kock inmate would have benefitted from the experience and should have lots more to offer. The obvious concern though, is how she will handle the polytrack for the first time tonight. Her good draw is an obvious help.

Jockey: Athandiwe MGUDLWA - Trainer: AlysonWRIGHT

ALPINE RIDGE is well above-average and she produced an exciting winning debut over six furlongs in yielding conditions at Scottsville last November. She was slow into stride in a graduation contest over six furlongs on this course next time out but made late progress to finish a creditable 6th, beaten 2.45 lengths at the wire. The daughter of Go Deputy has plenty of room for improvement and she will love tonight's extra furlong on her pedigree. She is drawn in pole and can stake a serious claim on her handicap debut. Of course, she will need to jump on terms.

Race 3: FABRIZIO(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Weiho MARWING

FABRIZIO has taken a liking to this surface and he improved in his two local performances. He stayed on for 3rd behind The Poet over seven furlongs on this surface recently and the runner-up gave that form a boost with an easy subsequent victory. This son of Lateral should enjoy the mile and must be taken seriously in this field. He has a wide draw to overcome but gets the in-form services of S'manga Khumalo.
