Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: IN THE KNOW(2)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Eric SANDS

IN THE KNOW has found her best form in recent outings and she ran on well for 2nd over this c & d, four weeks ago. The 3rd placed finisher could only manage the same position next time out but this daughter of Captain Al should have more to offer and can go one better.

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

WINTER TRADE is at his best over the minimum trip and he has improved since being equipped with blinkers. He ran on strongly late for a close 3rd over this c & d recently and should be a major contender in this event. The newcomers ROYAL UNION JET and SEVENTH LUTE must be closely followed in the betting market and they could be immediate dangers.

Race 4: IMIBALA(5) - TOP BET
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

IMIBALA did too much with blinkers last time and hardly surprisingly his conditioner has removed the headgear today. The grey Dynasty colt has shown promise thus far despite being costly to follow. He has a short but effective burst of speed and still has lots of room for improvement. He should be competitive in this field. That said, there are a few form runners here and he will be hard pressed to attain victory.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

SET YOUR SIGHTS has come strongly back to form recently and he was beaten a head in each of his last two runs, the penultimate of which was over this c & d. He was handed a 1 point penalty for his latest effort over the mile but the 3rd placed finisher gave that form an almighty boost when easily winning his next outing. This son of Horse Chestnut takes on slightly stronger opposition but should give another very good account of himself. He will enjoy the likely fast pace.

Race 5: SO SUSPECT(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Piet STEYN

SO SUSPECT had a lean patch of form but she produced an eye-catching last effort and can certainly build on that today. The daughter of Argonaut overcame a wide draw to lead over seven furlongs that day and despite being tackled early in the home straight, she fought on doggedly to the line and was beaten just over one length into 3rd position behind two decent sorts. The manner in which she stayed on, coupled with her good draw this time around, suggests that she will handle the mile and she is a big contender. Sean Cormack retains the ride on the chestnut filly.
