Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Charles LAIRD

SPLIT THE BREEZE is lightly raced and he has shown that he is an above-average sprinter. He clearly found the mile too far for him when making his debut for his new yard last time and the ten week break would have done him the world of good. The Brave Tin Soldier colt was an impressive winner of a minor feature over this trip in his penultimate start and takes a big drop in class today. He is well treat- ed at the weights on official ratings and should take some beating.

Race 4: CALL ME MAYBE(4)
Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Garth PULLER

CALL ME MAYBE has benefitted from the long break and she made big improvement over this c & d, three weeks ago. The daughter of Fort Beluga challenged strongly and was beaten just three parts of a length into 2nd at the line and now has her third run after the break. She has lots of scope for improvement and must be respected from her decent draw.

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

AUCTION KING is ultra-consistent and he runs his heart out. He has taken each rise in class well and won his only c & d effort. He was pipped by his stablemate DOUBLE CLUTCH over 1900m last time but is now 4kgs better off with that rival and despite his four pound penalty, he still appears well handica- pped in this listed contest. The four-year old gelding runs on strongly at the finish so his wide draw isn't a big concern and he will be competitive.

Race 8: RUN RHINO RUN(4)
Jockey: Alec FORBES - Trainer: Lezeanne FORBES

RUN RHINO RUN went off at long-odds on debut but produced a super-impressive finishing burst to easily beat a subsequent winner over this c & d in yielding conditions, seven weeks ago. He obviously has lots of ability and could be a real top sort in the making. The son of Silvano was given a high rating after that victory but he has tons of scope and a good draw is a major plus on his handicap debut today.

Race 9: POPULAR BLUES(12) (Each Way)
Jockey: Nicholas PATEL - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

POPULAR BLUES has improved since being equipped with blinkers and her best recent performance came under today's 4kgs claiming apprentice. She found the seven furlongs a tad on the sharp side for her last time but the Howells inmate did make late progress and will prefer the mile. She has finally cracked a good draw and can upset with yet another light mass.
