Race 3: ROYAL LIFE(13) - TOP BET
Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

ROYAL LIFE found tons of betting support on his debut over six furlongs but his inexperience told as he raced green and stayed on to be 2nd best behind a subsequent winner. The son of Dynasty is obvious- ly showing good work back home and he has lots of natural improvement to come. His pedigree suggests that he will relish the rise to the mile and he merits healthy respect. The concern is how he will handle the turn.

HIS APPROVAL has shown some fair post maiden form and he produced his best run for his new stable last time out. He was slow into stride but challenged strongly before finishing a close 4th over nine furlongs on the polytrack. He seems to have reached a competitive mark in his rating and drops in class now. The four-year old gelding had one decent run on this track and could benefit from blinkers as he drops in distance. He should build on that latest improvement and can stake a serious claim.

Race 7: FADE TO GREY(9)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Colin SCOTT

FADE TO GREY was given a strong ride when she fought back well to win against slightly stronger over this c & d, three weeks ago. She picked up the maximum eight pound penalty but has an affinity for the c & d and could still be ahead of the handicapper. She isn't too badly in with her rivals on that last run and can follow up with Khumalo in the irons.

CRIME VICTIM has improved his formline since returning from a break but he is still his own worst enemy as he continues to concede ground at the off. However, he challenged strongly and was rather unfortunate not to have won his last start over 1900m on the turf at Greyville. The son of Bezrin picked up a hefty six pound penalty for his troubles but he finished well clear of the 3rd placed finisher MODERN ROYAL that day and has more room for improvement. He is only 0.5kg worse off with the latter and should go very close in this field.

Race 6: KINGS APPROVAL(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Mandla NTULI - Trainer: Garth PULLER

KINGS APPROVAL has been moderate in his last few polytrack performances but this is his favourite c & d. He has come down nicely in the ratings in recent outings and his last c & d attempt was a solid one. The son of Miesque's Approval finished a close 5th behind Sun Bay that day, despite being drawn on the unfavourable side of the track. Interestingly, he finished just a neck adrift of LEGEND DANCER in that event and meets that rival on 3kgs better terms today. The four-year old gelding is well drawn here and can cause a major upset.
