Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW

There are plenty of moderate maidens in this contest and caution is advised. The runners that could dominate the event is SOVIET CRACKDOWN and RAZZLE MY TAZZLE and this pair represent the Crystal's Revenge formline over this c & d on 21/10. The former is lightly raced and she has proven effective on this surface. She finished 4th, half a length adrift of the latter in the contest referred to above. The pair meet on similar weight terms but this daughter of Royal Air Force hails from an in-form yard and she has more scope for improvement.

Race 3: MAJESTIC K(1)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Louis GOOSEN

MAJESTIC K bounced back to her best form when she tried this surface last time. The daughter of Trippi recovered from an awkward start and showed pace before tiring late into 3rd over this c & d. The runner-up boosted that form with a subsequent victory and the Goosen inmate can build on that progress TO YOU was 2nd best behind runaway winner Seattle Lady over this trip second time out but she fared better on debut over this c & d, prior to that. She should continue to improve with racing and is a threat to the top selection. There are some well-bred sorts who try this surface for the first time and must be watched in the betting market.

Race 5: DIE KAT(2)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

DIE KAT runs really well for an in-form S'manga Khumalo and the bay gelding enjoys this c & d. He has kept his form well and finished a creditable 4th behind a subsequent winner over 1450m, six weeks ago. The son of Tale Of The Cat will be an entirely different proposition over this distance and should give a decent account of himself. His wide draw isn't an issue as he usually runs on from off the pace.

Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

TIGER QUEST has disappointed on the grass in her last two starts but her recent sand form is cracking. She wasn't given the best of rides when she was caught late in a feature over this c & d by WINTER DARLING in September but she now meets that rival on 3.5kgs better terms. The Zaki inmate has her first run back at this venue and she can atone for the defeat. Her yard is in good nick and she is best in on official ratings.

Race 7: WILD THING(8) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Roy MAGNER

WILD THING continues to be a revelation after taking a long time to shed his maiden tag. He has now won 3 out of his last 5 attempts, the latest being an impressive c & d win over ROCKINGANDROLLING. He picked up a five pound penalty for his troubles and despite being 1.5kgs worse off with the runner-up, he has cracked another good draw and should handle the rise in class.
