Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: MAGIC TRIP(12) - TOP BET
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Geoff WOODRUFF

MAGIC TRIP produced an eye-catching debut over 1160m at Turffontein recently and should build on the effort. He found good betting support that day which suggests that the son of Trippi is showing decent work back home. The Woodruff inmate could enjoy the sand today and he will have lots of improvement to come.

Race 4: AWESOME ADAM(10)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

The Mike Azzie yard steps out the duo of AWESOME ADAM and SUZIE'S ARROW and this pairing should dominate both the betting boards and the final outcome. The former has produced two smart efforts on the turf over a mile and he has lots of room for further improvement. The son of Flying Spur should enjoy the extra furlong and is the stable elect. The obvious concern is how he will handle the sand but his good draw is an obvious plus.

Race 6: LIMBO(8)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

LIMBO was moderate on the turf last time but he won back-to-back sand efforts prior to that. The form- er Cape inmate beat some hard-knocking sorts in his penultimate run on his handicap debut over this c & d and he may have escaped with just a three pound penalty. He should have more to come on this surface and could still be ahead of the handicapper. The son of Right Approach is well drawn and gets the services of Piere Strydom.

Race 9: RODEO DANDY(8)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

RODEO DANDY continues to be a mystery on the sand. He is a former c & d winner but isn't able to put away similar opposition on this surface, despite taking on much stroger on the grass. He wasn't beaten far on the turf last time and was caught late over this c & d in a low-key handicap, three runs back. Nevertheless, the Zaki inmate gets Strydom back in the irons and must always be respected in these contests.

Race 8: ELECTRIC ELEKTRA(1) (Each Way)
Jockey: Ryan MUNGER - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

This is a moderate low-key fillies and mares handicap and lots of caution must be exercised. ELECTRIC ELEKTRA is the top weight who has taken on stronger in recent outings and she is a former c & d winner The speedy four-year old filly wasn't disgraced in a decent line-up on the turf last time and she will again benefit from a 1.5kgs apprentice claim.
