Magic Tips Best Bets
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Tara LAING
DESTINY DRIVEN continues his solid form but he has been extremely costly to follow. However, he is getting closer in recent outings and was caught in the last stride over this c & d, last time out. The son of Var returns from a short break but his yard has done well over the past few months and he is a major contender in this field.
Race 3: CLIFTON SURF(11)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF
The local resident CLIFTON SURF has shown good ability over this c & d and he appears progressive. He was considered good enough to contest a feature in Cape Town at his penultimate start and then probab- ly needed his next start, albeit he finished close-up in 6th. He is better than his recent form and gave the classy Unannounced a huge scare over this c & d, three runs back. The son of Antonius Pius is best in on official ratings and should bounce right back to his best.
Race 7: PRINCESS CHLOE(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Justin SNAITH
PRINCESS CHLOE is an above-average sort from the Justin Snaith yard and she travels to PE for the first time in her short career. She has shown promise against some decent sorts and still has scope for improvement. The daughter of Captain Al is extremely well treated by the weights and she should take a power of beating. She has raced around a right hand turn before and that will be crucial.
Race 9: JET SWINGER(1)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN
This is a moderate maiden contest but a betting proposition in the form of JET SWINGER could be on the cards. The Glen Kotzen inmate produced her career best effort over this c & d on her local debut and she seems best at sprinting, which explains her last run. She should go very close with Yeni in the irons.
Jockey: Wayne AGRELLA - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM
WAY CLEAR left PE with his rating at 98 and returns with a six pound lower rating which should work to his advantage. Of course, he showed lots of ability early in his career and has a decent c & d record. He campaigned against some useful sorts in the 'mother city' and the seven week break would have help- ed his cause. The son of Ashaawes can bounce right back to his best form in this field.
