Race 7: PONTEDERA(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Tienie PRINSLOO

LATINO'S JET is coming along the right way and he may have improved since being gelded in mid-January. His wide draw cost him when he finished well for 2nd over seven furlongs last Monday but the mile could suit him perfectly. The Latino Magic gelding has lots more scope for improvement and he could prove to be far too good for his ordinary rivals today.

Race 2: EUSEBIUS(1)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN - Trainer: Paul PETER

The Gauteng visitor EUSEBIUS has shown promise on the Highveld and he is at his best over this minimum trip. He tired late in a competitive sand feature last time but drops heavily in class on his track debut. The son of Carpocrates deservedly shoulders top weight of 60kgs but he could still take some beating, if handling this surface.

Race 4: CREO'S PRIDE(2)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Tienie PRINSLOO

CREO'S PRIDE has been costly to follow locally but he stays well and finally races over a suitable trip in the maiden ranks. That said, he hasn't disgraced himself against winners at handicap level in his last two starts and his conditioner has found the perfect race for him to get past the post first.

Jockey: Fanie CHAMBERS - Trainer: Corne SPIES

The smart Gauteng visitor FIRE DANCING makes a surprise visit to Kimberley and she should start at very restricted odds here. The daughter of National Emblem has shown promise on the Vaal sand and she hasn't disgraced herself against Grade 1 performers. She would have strengthened during her 16 week break and will take some beating, if handling this surface.

Race 6: IMPRESA(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

This is an intriguing low-key handicap with all but one of the nine entrants preferring to race from off the speed. That could lead to IMPRESA enjoying the run of the race. The former PE inmate adopts frontrunning tactics to good effect and his fitness won't be an issue. He takes a big drop in class and can stake a serious claim, if handling this surface.
