Race 7: SHEEN QUEEN(7)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

GINGER BISCUIT has shown lots of promise on this surface and she may have just needed her comeback run over this c & d, five weeks ago. She will strip fitter and has a solid c & d record. She will enjoy the likely blistering pace and should be picking off her rivals strongly in the closing stages.

Race 2: ANASA(6)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

This is another competitive maiden plate that features some decent types and a thrilling finish is expected. ANASA was understandably very green when she made her debut over six furlongs at Scottsville recently. She found a flood of betting support that day but only got going late to finish a more than creditable 4th, beaten just over two lengths at the line. The De Kock inmate would have come on appreciably with that experience and she does have lots of improvement to come. Tonight's seven furlongs will be right up her alley and she can stake a serious claim from a good draw. The obvious concern is how she will handle the polytrack.

Race 4: ROY'S FLYER(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Charles LAIRD

ROY'S FLYER is the form runner in this moderate maiden contest and he looks set to be rewarded for his consistency. The Charles Laird inmate has only raced on this surface and has produced solid form to date. He raced handy and ran on again late to finish 3rd over a mile last time and that effort clearly suggested that he is more suited to tonight's trip. Of course, the son of Jet Master has done well over this c & d and he should give another very good account of himself.

Jockey: Donovan DILLON - Trainer: Yogas GOVENDER

BEAUTIFUL JET has turned her fortunes around since trying the polytrack. She produced two good seconds in both her tries on this surface and was docked a pound for her moderate last grass run. The daughter of Jet Master meets another mediocre field and she should go very close.

Race 5: ROY'S DOCTOR(4) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

This is a mediocre maiden contest but could develop into a two-horse affair and the value could lie with ROY'S DOCTOR from the Kom Naidoo yard. This imported daughter of Holy Roman Emperor has only shaped on this surface and she finished well in both those runs. She isn't fortunate with good draws but this is a small field and she can stake a serious claim. The run that makes her a major threat is when she finished well for 3rd, beaten 3.05 lengths behind Buzz over ten furlongs on this track. The four-year old filly was only a short head adrift of tonight's likely odds-on favourite BEV'S BABY that day and she is 3kgs better off at the weights.
