Race 7: NISHAC(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Anton MARCUS  - Trainer: Dennis BOSCH

QUEEN'S ADVANCE has produced two promising sprints and she has good scope. She finished strongly from her poor draw when going down three parts of a length on debut on this course and the daughter of Right Approach should relish this extra furlong. The form of her second outing could work out well and she gets the nod in a competitive field. Anton Marcus does duty for the Bosch yard and will have to work his magic from gate 10.

Race 3: ROY'S SELVAN(1)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Pat LUNN

ROY'S SELVAN has cracked a good draw tonight and that could make a significant difference. The Austra- lian import produced a promising penultimate display over seven furlongs at Scottsville despite being slow into stride. He wasn't able to build on that next time out but was drawn badly in yielding going, five days ago. Still, the son of Bel Espirit made steady late headway and was beaten just over four lengths at the line. He could be searching for this trip and is a strong contender, if handling the surface. His yard's horses generally do well on this track.

Race 7: NISHAC(2) - TOP BET
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Garth PULLER

NISHAC has placed on both surfaces but he produced his career best effort on this polytrack and he is a major contender tonight. The son of Kahal showed some improvement with blinkers last time but the Call The Clown c & d formline stands out. He finished strongly when beaten a neck into 2nd that night and had the course specialist COUNT ZAFONIC exactly one length adrift of him. The pair now meet on similar weight terms and Anton Marcus should get his mount over the line from his good draw.

Race 8: LIKENESS(2)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Belinda IMPEY

LIKENESS is improving steadily and she is c & d suited. She only tired late into a decent 4th two weeks ago and still has lots of scope for improvement. It is encouraging that Delpech takes the ride and the daughter of Carpocrates has a bright chance in this final event.

Race 5: PRINCE OF MAGIC(7) (Each Way)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Weiho MARWING

There are plenty of speedy types in this competitive handicap and a cracking finish is on the cards. The Weiho Marwing recruit, PRINCE OF MAGIC caught the eye when making his local debut for his new yard ten days ago. He raced wide but handy over six furlongs on this course that day and only tired late to finish a more than creditable 3rd, beaten just under three lengths at the line. That effort would have brought the former Cape inmate on and he will strip fitter now. He could also prefer the drop to the minimum distance and is a serious contender from his fair draw.
