Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: ADMIRAL'S EYE(1)
Jockey: Jose BARNES - Trainer: Charles LAIRD

The Charles Laird yard is well represented in this opening contest and ADMIRAL'S EYE gets the nod. She is best in on official ratings and will enjoy the services of a 2.5kgs claiming apprentice. The bay filly tired late into 3rd behind a top class sort in a feature last time but she drops in class here. She meets GOLDIE COAST on 2.5kgs better weight terms for a 1.25 lengths beating and should go close in this contest.

Race 3: AVARICIOUS(2)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

AVARICIOUS showed big improvement when equipped with blinkers for the first time in his latest outing. The well-related son of Var raced wide and green that day, but he still finished strongly for a good 2nd over the mile at this course. He meets stronger opposition now but has lots of scope for improvem- ent and has his third run after the layoff. He represents a red-hot combination.

Race 4: MASTER'S SPIRIT(12)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

MASTER'S SPIRIT drifted alarmingly in the betting market but still produced a fair sprint debut over six furlongs in late December, despite being slow into stride. The very well-bred son of Jet Master would have strengthened during the break and that experience will stand him in good stead. He should love the rise in distance and should have lots more to offer. He will be aided by a good draw on his first venture around the turn.

Race 7: SNOWMAN(5)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Michael ROBERTS

SNOWMAN is a decent sort who will continue to improve with racing and over ground. He is still lightly raced and was desperately unlucky not to have beaten VIENNA WOOD over this c & d, last time out. The son of Western Winter found terrible traffic problems that day and despite being 1kg worse off with the latter, he should exact revenge. The grey gelding has lots of scope for improvement.
