Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Francis SEMELA - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW

JIMMIJAGGA has had enough opportunities but he remains ultra-consistent and he relishes racing on this surface. He went close to a smart sort over this c & d in his comeback run recently and holds many of today's runners safe on that performance. Furthermore, the Spectrum gelding will strip fitter and he should go close with Semela in the irons.

Jockey: Ian STURGEON - Trainer: David RAHILLY

RAZZLE MY TAZZLE is a long-time maiden but her conditioner has found the perfect race for her and she can get that deserved first career win. She loves this surface and fought hard when beaten a neck into 2nd over 1450m, three weeks ago. It is very encouraging that she finished just over fourteen lengths in front of the 3rd placed finisher and this shorter trip will suit her perfectly.

Race 7: MALTA ROCKS(5)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

MALTA ROCKS is lightly raced and he has shown that he is way above-average. He has been restricted to the sand in his three starts and is unbeaten over this minimum trip. The Azzie inmate has his issues but he kept going well to beat subsequent winner KISS ME HARDY over this c & d in his comeback run, despite an awkward beginning. The son of Seventh Rock will strip fitter and he is well handicapped in this non-black type event.

Race 8: HA LUCY(6)
Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: Lucky HOUDALAKIS

HA LUCY is much better than her last showing and she is effective on this surface. She may have not enjoyed racing under the lights that day and showed her worth with facile back-to-back wins, prior to that. The speedy daughter of Trippi is best weighted in this contest and she can bounce right back to her best.

Race 9: OKLAHOMA TRIPPI(8) (Each Way)
Jockey: Mathew THACKERAY - Trainer: Spike LERENA

This is a low-key handicap in which caution is usually advised, but this time there could be a betting proposition in the form of the lightly weighted OKLAHOMA TRIPPI. This son of Trippi is at his best on this course and he had one solid performance for this 4kgs claiming apprentice, albeit that was on the turf. He bounced back to form when he ran on well for 3rd behind LIMBO over 1450m on this course, four weeks ago and has already proven himself over this trip. The Spike Lerena trained gelding meets the latter on 5kgs better terms and he should go close from his handy draw.
