Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Mike BASS

GOOD GRACE has shown ability in her three starts but found six furlongs too sharp for her last time out. She lacked a strong kick when beaten just over two lengths over a mile in her penultimate start but that was her first experience of racing around the turn. The Mike Bass inmate will be better prepared this time around and she has good improvement to come. She makes her track debut but will be aided by pole position and should go very close.

Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Mike BASS

DEPENDING ON YOU showed encouraging signs for his new yard and he made big improvement over seven furlongs on this track, four weeks ago. He moved up dangerously before finishing runner-up but now has his third run after the layoff and will be cherry-ripe. The expensive son of Dynasty is drawn in pole position today and he should build on that recent progress. He will relish the step-up to the mile.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Mike STEWART

PROMICING POLLY has hit a purple patch over the past few months and she continues to blossom. She was ridden differently and she responded with a strong finish for 2nd behind some top class male sprinters over this trip, three weeks ago. Cormack knows the daughter of King Of Kings well and the pair teamed up for an impressive penultimate victory over this c & d at a similar level. The five-year old mare drops in class and she should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

CHERISH THE MOMENT benefitted from being gelded as he record a career best last effort. He pulled hard in the early stages of that 2400m contest but was given an enterprising ride as he struck the front at the 800m mark before being pipped at the line. The son of Tiger Ridge may have just needed the effort and will strip fitter today. He should have no issues with this drop in distance and can go close in this field.

Race 4: CAN COPE(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Devin ASHBY - Trainer: Harold CRAWFORD

CAN COPE has been thereabouts against much stronger opposition recently and she had a decent last effort after setting the pace over nine furlongs on this course. She was well beaten into 2nd but is more effective over the mile and she won her only c & d outing. The daughter of National Emblem drops in class and is a big contender from her handy draw.
