Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Neil BRUSS

DARK AVENGER had two fair efforts prior to his disappointing last run which resulted in him getting the unkindest cut of all. His conditioner obviously expects more from the gelded son of Western Winter who returns from a short eight week absence. He races fresh so this trip may not pose a major problem and he should go very well.

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Mike STEWART

PROMICING POLLY and GOGREASELIGHTNING renew their rivalry but this time at a different venue and the former's experience on this track places her at an advantage. She is holding her form extremely well and tried hard when outrun late into 2nd behind the latter, four weeks ago. That effort earned her a four pound penalty but she runs well for Cormack and still merits healthy respect.

Jockey: Christopher PULLER - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

TRIPLE BLUFF bounced back to best when he ran on strongly to beat his stablemate SIMPLY BLACK by three parts of a length at Kenilworth over this trip, four weeks ago. He seems to have escaped with just a three pound penalty and is only 1.5kgs worse off with the runner-up. The son of Trippi won his maiden over this c & d and he has lots more improvement to come. His wide draw is the only concern but he should be competitive at this level. The latter has good experience on this circuit but is drawn even wider and that makes his task difficult.

Race 9: HILARIA(2)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Mohammed ALLIE

HILARIA is knocking hard at the door and she deserves her maiden victory. She has teamed up well with visiting jockey Sean Cormack in her last two sprints. Of course, the daughter of Rebel King went close over this trip prior to that and her usual frontrunning tactics could pay handsome dividends on this track. She is well drawn at gate 4.

Race 7: WINTER RESERVE(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Mike BASS

HOPEITSAPRIZE has reached a competitive mark in the ratings and she has finally turned her formline around. She has adopted frontrunning tactics to good effect in her last two smart efforts over this trip at Kenilworth. She has a solid record on this tight circuit and holds strong claims in this ordinary field.
