Race 4: IDEAL BLOOM(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: FORLAN(3)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

FORLAN is bred to stay all day but he made a bright local debut over six furlongs on this track, nine days ago. He ran on steadily for 3rd behind his stablemate that day and will strip much fitter. The son of Judpot obviously enjoyed racing on this surface and he will relish the step-up to the mile. He is well drawn at gate 2 and should stake a serious claim.

IDEAL BLOOM loves this surface and all three of her career successes have come here. She quickly bounced back to form albeit finishing 2nd best over this c & d, nine days ago. The daughter of Ideal World finished just over two lengths in front of the 3rd placed runner and she meets a weak field now. She should go very close in this line-up.

Race 7: MOTOMAN(5)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

MOTOMAN has rather surprisingly relocated from the Highveld after just a dozen performances. He showed some decent staying ability and has faced a few quality sorts along the way. The three-year old Kahal gelding is best in on official ratings in this graduation contest and he should take a power of beating, if handling this surface. His fellow three-year old ZOO BISCUIT is the biggest danger. The Dorrie Sham inmate is ultra-consistent and he loves racing on this track. He had excuses for a below par last turf run and should be competitive despite conceding 3kgs to the top selection.

AGE OF AQUARIUS has shown decent post maiden form and he ran on well for 2nd behind O JALLAD over this c & d, nine days ago. He is much better drawn today and is 2kgs better off with his conqueror for that 1.25 lengths beating. The three-year old son of Kahal can reverse the form.

Race 5: THE WHITE FLOWER(12) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gerrit SCHLECHTER - Trainer:  Dorrie SHAM

THE WHITE FLOWER has moderate recent form and she continues to plummet in the ratings. However, she showed some character in producing an improved last effort behind a high class sort, despite having her second run inside two days. Incidentally, that was on the polytrack at Greyville and the daughter of Eyeofthetiger has relocated to PE since. She deserved her five week break and is well handicapped on her local debut. She represents an in-form yard and can cause an upset from her fair draw.
