Race 4: CHAMPAGNE SHOWERS(4)
Race 6: KING OF THE CASTLE(11
Race 8: FOAM PARTY(9)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: COWBOY(3)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Grant PADDOCK

The Grant Paddock stable holds a strong hand in this event and their trio should dominate proceedings. COWBOY has had two solid performances on this polytrack and he is overdue his maiden victory. He jumps from another good draw and Muzi Yeni retains the ride.

Race 4: CHEEKY QUESTION(3) - TOP BET
Jockey: Gift FUNEKA - Trainer: Yvette BREMNER

CHEEKY QUESTION is the obvious form choice and she can get it right from her good barrier position. Her two career best efforts have come over this c & d and she is a confident first selection.

Race 6: SANFONEIRO(1)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

SANFONEIRO is an honest sort who has a very pleasing record with Muzi Yeni in the irons. The circumst- ances in his last event made his task difficult but he did make steady progress to be 2nd best behind KING AIR over nine furlongs on this track. Of course, the latter enjoyed the run of the race as the loose horse intimidated the remainder of his opposition. The top selection is now 3.5kgs to the good and he has strong claims of reversing that formline.

Race 7: SCARLET BERRY(4)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

This is a very competitive fillies and mares handicap with many of the ten contenders having faced each other before. The daughter of Horse Chestnut SCARLET BERRY is the obvious pacesetter and she brings solid polytrack form into this event. In fact, she is yet to be out of the first two placings in five efforts here. The Gavin Smith inmate adopts those tactics to very good effect and she is distance suited.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY:

Race 5: BLACK THUNDER(17) (Each Way)
Jockey: Reserve Rnr. - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

The Alan Greeff stable holds a strong hand in this low-key handicap and their reserve runner BLACK THUNDER could steal the limelight, if given the opportunity. The six-year old gelding likes this surface and he has improved his formline in recent starts. He stayed on well for 2nd in novice company over 1300m recently and had AGE OF AQUARIUS a length and a half behind him that day. He is now 2kgs better off with the latter and jumps from a decent draw.
