Race 2: STORM SURF(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 3: FIRST SEA LORD(10)
Jockey: Sean VEALE - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

FIRST SEA LORD built on his moderate debut when he ran on well for 3rd over seven furlongs on the polytrack in a competitive line-up, two weeks ago. He tries the grass for the first time but should enjoy the extra furlong and jumps from pole position. The Dennis Drier inmate has more scope for improvement and he merits healthy respect.

Jockey: Alec FORBES - Trainer: Alistair GORDON

SEMPRE SEMPRE was bitterly disappointing when well beaten into 2nd over this trip last time but she clearly didn't enjoy the yielding underfoot conditions. The well-related daughter of Kahal is much better than that performance and she went close in her penultimate run. She gets the ideal opportunity to make amends in this much weaker contest and despite her wide draw, the Alistair Gordon inmate is the one to beat. She should have no issues with this track.

Race 5: CAKEWALK(9)
Jockey: Athandiwe MGUDLWA - Trainer: Craig EUDEY

CAKEWALK was drawn widest of all on debut over seven furlongs on the polytrack recently but she did make some decent late progress for 5th. She was well beaten at the line but that was in a strong field and the experience would have brought her on appreciably. The daughter of Dynasty will relish tonights extra furlong and is much kinder drawn on her grass debut. She should go well in this line-up.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Tony RIVALLAND

Once again there are some classy three-year olds on display in this Progress Plate and an exciting finish is on the cards. HIGHWAY EXPLORER has shown solid credentials and he also represents the London Call formline. It will certainly be worth following the progress of Dreya's Gold in the previous race as that rival represents the same form. Anyway, this imported Mossman colt ran on steadily for 3rd in that last event over six furlongs at Scottsville. He had two impressive back-to-back wins over the same c & d prior to that and has lots more to offer. He races on this track for the first time tonight but could relish being equipped with blinkers and Anton Marcus climbs aboard from a decent draw.

Race 8: HIS APPROVAL(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

HIS APPROVAL had an encouraging last effort as he finally jumped on terms. He seemed not to see out the trip that day but still finished a creditable 4th in a decent line-up. Tonight's shorter trip will suit the son of Miesque's Approval much better and he jumps from a good draw. He isn't the stable elect but still deserves lots of respect.
