Race 7: THE HANGMAN(4)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Weiho MARWING

MAMASITA showed useful ability on the Highveld and she produced her career best effort over this trip, albeit in a workrider's event, six weeks ago. The form of her penultimate run has worked out extremely well and the Weiho Marwing inmate should continue to improve. She has the best credentials in this line-up and should go very close, if handling this surface.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

GOLDIE COAST is best in on official ratings in this conditions plate and she can get that deserved 5th career win. The chestnut filly has held her form in much stronger company in recent outings and ran on well for 3rd despite a slipped saddle over a mile on the grass, four weeks ago. She won her only c & d outing and should take some beating with Marcus in the saddle.

Race 5: JAY POWER(3)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Paul LAFFERTY

JAY POWER is in very good form and could give his yard a quick double. He has finished runner-up in his last three outings over this distance, one of which was on this track. The form of his last start hasn't amounted to much but the son of Jay Peg could enjoy the run of the race with his usual frontru- ning tactics and he will go close.

Race 7: THE HANGMAN(4)
Jockey: Athandiwe MGUDLWA - Trainer: Sean TARRY

THE HANGMAN dropped heavily in class and showed a welcome return to form when he smashed his rivals by just under three lengths over seven furlongs at the Vaal, three weeks ago. He clearly isn't the force he once was as a three-year old but his conditioner has cleverly placed him in today's contest, despite his seven pound hike. The son of Jallad is well handicapped in this Grade 3 event & of course, he won a Grade 1 as a juvenile on this track. The Sean Tarry inmate has his third run after the layoff and he should go close from a handy draw.

Race 3: SHELLYS CONNECTION(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Paul GADSBY

The Crevasse formline over this c & d could be worth following in this low-key handicap. SHELLYS CONNECTION was poor when badly needing that effort and she will strip much fitter. She had smart form prior to that and drops further in class. Cormack went close aboard the mare before and she can bounce back to form.
