Race 1: SAINT DONAN(1)
Race 3: ASHRAM(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Shane HUMBY

CANDALEEYAH has shown promise and she ventures beyond the minimum trip for the first time today. Her running on 3rd in her comeback run last time suggests that she could appreciate this extra furlong and there is still good improvement to come from the daughter of Argonaut. She gets the services of Andrew Fortune and will strip fitter this time around.

Race 5: NEW FORT(6) - TOP BET
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE- Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

Only seven runners go to post for this staying handicap but with more than one natural pacesetter, a solid pace won't be an issue. The three-year old NEW FORT has the pedigree and looks to shape into a classy stayer as he matures. The son of Fort Wood produced a powerful late burst to win his maiden over a mile at the third time of asking. He followed that performance up with a solid 3rd behind Juddering Angel over ten furlongs three weeks ago and has lots of scope for more progress. He should love every bit of the rise in distance and will easily handle this class of opposition. The Glen Kotzen inmate is definitely one for the future.

Race 6: CASUAL FAN(2)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

CASUAL FAN was below-par when he went beyond sprints for the first time in his last outing but he quickly reverts to sprinting today. The three-year old bay colt showed good ability prior to that last effort and he ran on well for 4th behind a top quality sort over this c & d on his handicap debut at his penultimate start. He clearly enjoys being equipped with blinkers and should give a very good account of himself.

Race 8: SKYSIGN(3)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

This is a competitive fillies and mares handicap and caution is advised. SKYSIGN is reaching a competitive mark in her rating and she has improved her formline in recent starts. She has been competing against stronger and produced a commendable last performance over ten furlongs despite racing wide. The daughter of Judpot has cracked a good draw now and she holds a decent c & d record. Andrew Fortune takes the ride.

Race 4: RUNNING BACK(5) (Each Way)
Jockey: Anthony ANDREWS - Trainer: Glen KOTZEN

This is another competitive maiden affair and the likely pacemaker could be the one to beat. RUNNING BACK set his own tempo when producing his career best effort over nine furlongs, three weeks ago. He was outrun late into 3rd, beaten 1.25 lengths behind the well ridden Tygerhoogte and should handle today's extra furlong. The Judpot gelding is well drawn and he could again enjoy the run of the race. He represents a combination who were victorious at this venue recently.
