Race 2: VARUMBA(16)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

Once again there are many first timers in this juvenile contest but they will have to be special to account for VARUMBA and PACIFICA. The former was heavily supported into favouritism on debut over six furlongs at the Vaal and the Marshall inmate looked home before being tagged late by another newcomer. That experience would have brought her on considerably and she is obviously rated by her conditioner. The daughter of Var will be very competitive in this contest.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Grant MAROUN

LADY ON FIRE has shown promise in her four efforts to date and she gets a good opportunity to open her account tonight. The speedy daughter of Albert Hall finished runner-up over this trip last time out and she meets much weaker opposition. She will take some beating with Strydom in the irons.

Race 4: GOLDEN MAN(2)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Grant MAROUN

GOLDEN MAN and FORMAL REQUEST represent the Sir Cecil formline and the pair could dominate proceedings in this maiden event. The former has shown promise in all three of his runs and he ran on late when runner-up, beaten four lengths by Sir Cecil over this trip on the inside course, seven weeks ago. He had the latter only a neck further behind him that day but gets the narrow first verdict as Strydom could make the big difference.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Sean TARRY

SEVENTH HEART is an above-average sort and her form proves that. She won her first two runs over this trip and was only outrun late over a mile under a big mass, three weeks ago. The daughter of Seventh Rock should continue to improve and the quick decision by her trainer to drop her in distance, could make all the difference. She will handle the rise in class and has strong claims with Anton Marus in the saddle.

Race 9: SAVE THE RHINO(15) (Each Way)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Ormond FERRARIS

SAVE THE RHINO went off at long-odds but produced a decent debut over nine furlongs on the inside track, ten days ago. He was drawn wide that day but ran on steadily in the closing stages to be beaten 3.50 lengths at the line. The full-brother to Wild One would have come on with that effort and he should relish this extra furlong. He is well drawn at gate 2 and should love the switch to the stands- ide track.
