Race 3: TRIP TEASE(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: RED SAVAGE(1)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

RED SAVAGE isn't consistent but he caught the eye with a smart last effort on the inside course at Turffontein over eleven furlongs. He ran on from far back for 2nd that day and he could enjoy racing on this surface. His wide draw isn't an issue and he should be very competitive. QUID RIDES has placed on this course and he has shown ability, albeit he has been costly to follow. He also comes from way back so his poor barrier position isn't a worry and he is a definite threat.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Louis GOOSEN

TRIP TEASE returns from a well deserved eight week break which would have enabled him to recover from his Cape Town escapade. The top class son of Trippi didn't disgraced himself when only tiring late into 5th in that Grade 1 event at Kenilworth and his sand record speaks volumes for his love of this surface. He is best in on official ratings and gets the nod to beat a high quality field.

Race 6: BROOKS-CLUB(6)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON - Trainer: Michael AZZIE

BROOKS-CLUB is still enjoying his racing and he has acquitted himself well in feature company in recent outings. He may have just needed both his comeback runs but ran on from far back for a decent 4th in a feature over nine furlongs on the grass, ten days ago. He is equally effective on the sand and this drop in distance will be no issue. The Mike Azzie inmate will be cherry-ripe and should go well in this listed contest. That said, he will be pushed hard by the two sand freaks KISS ME HARDY and ALL THE BIDS from the Corne' Spies stable.

Race 8: SAVE THE DAY(1)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Paul PETER

SAVE THE DAY quickly bounced back to form as she threatened to upstage the short-priced favourite over a mile on the grass, recently. She adopted frontrunning tactics to good effect that day and should continue to improve. Her speed will stand her in good stead on this surface and she should take a power of beating.

Race 2: BALLERINI(11) (Each Way)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

The sole filly in this contest BALLERINI has a good c & d record but she has some issues and returns from a long absence. However, her conditioner knows exactly how to get his charges back fit and well and this daughter of King Of Kings can upset the boys. She will benefit from a 2.5kgs apprentice allowance.
