Race 2: ENDEARING(1)
Race 7: ANGER(9)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Grant MAROUN

SPECIAL ANNOUNCE was all at sea on his first venture around the turn last time and he returns down the straight today. He showed good potential in his two previous attempts over this distance and looks set to bounce back to his best today. His conditioner has removed the blinkers and the son of Announce should go very close to exiting the maiden ranks. He meets ordinary opposition and Strydom retains the ride.

Race 2: ENDEARING(1)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Alec LAIRD

ENDEARING has shown good form to date and her conditioner has found the right race to shed her maiden tag. She has been racing over slightly further but usually shows speed and is effective over this shorter trip. The form of her last run was franked when her conqueror won a subsequent feature and this daughter of Judpot is the one to beat. She was runner-up in her only attempt on this track.

Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Sean TARRY

KALANCHOE has decent ability and traffic problems cost her dearly when she finished 2nd best behind her stable companion over six furlongs, two weeks ago. She should have finished much closer but now gets top jockey Khumalo in the irons and that will make a huge difference. The daughter of Kahal has lots of scope for improvement and the mile will be right up her alley. She meets a very moderate field and should take all the beating at restrictive odds.

Race 5: LIGHT THE WAY(8)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN - Trainer: Robbie SAGE

LIGHT THE WAY is an improving three-year old with a decent record and he still appears ahead of the handicapper. He finished a decent 3rd behind a classy sort in his only c & d effort and ran on nicely to be close-up in a feature, three weeks ago. The bay gelding has good scope for further improvement and he should be competitive against this higher class of opposition with a decent galloping weight.

Race 8: KINGS V(7) (Each Way)
Jockey: Collen STOREY - Trainer: Wallace TOLMAY

This is another very competitive sprint featuring some fast types and the finish should be an exciting one. KINGS V was rested for 14 weeks after she was not striding out in her last run and she was docked three pounds in her rating in the interim. She reserves her best performances for this track and her only victory came over this c & d. She has faced stronger rivals and usually finishes her races off well so the likely blistering speed will play into her hands. She can provide the upset.
