Race 3: LORD KELLY(7)
Jockey: Eldin WEBBER - Trainer: Mitchell WIESE

LORD KELLY runs well for this jockey and he showed good improvement over a mile on this course, two weeks ago. He jumped slowly on that occasion but made good late progress to finish 4th, beaten just over three lengths in a stronger field. He has already had success over this extra furlong and is a major contender from a much better draw. His only career win came on this surface.

Race 4: LADY SILVIA(9)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

LADY SILVIA has a solid polytrack record and she is better than her disappointing last two runs again- st stronger. She has come down steadily in the ratings and the recent eight week break would have helped her cause. The daughter of Silvano is distance suited and she should be competitive from a good draw in this line-up.

Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

The three-year old PARADE COUNCIL has a big mass and a wide draw to overcome in this low-key handicap but he is above-average and could defy the odds. He led throughout en route to a facile maiden win over this c & d on his local debut in his penultimate run and then caught the eye with a fair feature effort, last Friday. The son of Kildonan moved up menacingly before tiring late in yielding conditions over ten furlongs in the Derby, seven days ago. The lightly raced chestnut colt will be cherry-ripe on his third run after the layoff and has tons of improvement to come. He has the necessary gate speed to overcome his wide draw.

Race 7: SET ME FREE(7)
Jockey: Robert KHATHI - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

SET ME FREE has a good polytrack record and she comes here in search of a hat-trick of wins on this surface. The brown mare was given a good ride when she quickened up well to beat a quality line-up that included the consistent FACINATING FILLY last time out. She picked up a hefty nine pound penalty for her troubles but clearly has more to offer and would have benefitted from the 12 week absence. The Snaith inmate is much better drawn and she has strong claims once again.

Race 5: BADGER'S TRAIL(9) (Each Way)
Jockey: Shannon DEVOY - Trainer: Jacques STRYDOM

This is yet another low-key handicap on today's card and an upset looks very likely. The formline worth following could be the c & d run behind King Of Indians on 08/04. BADGER'S TRAIL was never dangerous when he finished exactly four lengths adrift of his conqueror in that event but was under sufferance, owing to his low merit rating. The son of Badger's Drift is much better treated against this class of opposition and rather interestingly, he meets a few of the more fancied rivals on better weight terms and could provide the upset.
