Race 4: EROS'S GIRL(1)
Race 6: LA REBEL(7)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

CHARLES LYTTON is much better than his below-par last effort suggests. That said, the Snaith inmate still got up to remain unbeaten locally despite being far from his best. He is once again extremely well in at the weights and this extra furlong will suit the son of Thomas Crown much better. He should take a power of beating.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

JUAN TWO THREE looks a really exciting PE prospect and he faces his first real test in proving that today. The Greeff inmate has been effortless in both his impressive wins over the minimum distance and he looks destined for the top. He recovered quickly from an awkward start last time and that outing gave the indication that he will relish this extra furlong. The son of Var is the only two-time winner in this field and he faces his rivals at level-weights.

Race 7: SEDGE(5)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

SEDGE has reserved his best recent performances for this minimum distance and he drops heavily in class today. He was outclassed in a strong field over six furlongs recently but that form could certa- inly be worth following. The Silvano gelding was outrun late over this c & d at conditions level under a big mass in his penultimate effort and he should go close in this field. He could finally ended his win-drought.

Jockey: Gerrit SCHLECHTER - Trainer:  A McLachlan/D McKenzie

NILE SYMPHONY is probably most effective on the polytrack nowadays but he produced an eye-catching recent run behind The Beat over this c & d, three runs back and drops in class today. He wasn't disgraced against stronger on the polytrack last time and should go very well in this low-key handicap.

Race 4: NIGHT FALL(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Juan-Paul v.d.MERWE - Trainer: Gavin SMITH

This is another intriguing contest that cannot be judged purely on the ratings. NIGHT FALL is distance suited and her local debut experience will stand her in good stead. She was moderate in a feature that day but was having her first run in this province and will be a totally different proposition now. The former Gauteng inmate has met some useful sorts over ground and she will test the likely odds-on favourite, EROS'S GIRL.
