Jockey: Karl ZECHNER - Trainer: Dorrie SHAM

COUNT ZAFONIC produced his best KZN efforts on the polytrack at Greyville and it is a surprise to see him in PE after some decent form. He still has more to offer and could have a bright future here. GALAO also makes his local debut after showing some ability in the Cape. He has been close-up recently and was beaten just over two lengths over 2400m at Durbanville, six weeks ago. He tries the polytrack for the first time but merits respect for his new yard.

Race 3: SEVEN ROSES(1)
Jockey: Teaque GOULD - Tara LAING

SEVEN ROSES may have needed his local debut and he will be a totally different proposition today. He is lightly raced and showed decent ability in Gauteng when finishing close-up in his penultimate run over this trip. He will strip much fitter here and can make big improvement from his pole barrier position. Of course, the concern is how he will take to the polytrack.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

SEATTLE STORM may be taking a leap in class today but he has found form in recent efforts and should easily make the step-up in grade. Of course, he reached a rating of 98 early on in his career and has even taken on similar rivals, previously. He has shown good form on this surface and is a big contend- er with just 52.5kgs on his back. The Greeff inmate will relish the likely solid gallop.

Jockey: Xolane NDLOVU - Trainer: Alan GREEFF

STRONG MAN SAM has been excellent on the polytrack and it could be worth following the progress of Seattle Storm in the previous contest as the top rating got the better of his stablemate over this c & d in his penultimate start. He finished strongly when beaten a neck into 2nd over the sharper minimum trip last time but will be more at home over today's distance and can defy his recent five pound hike. His pole barrier position is a major plus.

Race 5: BOLT OF LIGHT(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Tara LAING

This is a tricky and competitive handicap and the value lies with BOLT OF LIGHT from the Tara Laing yard. The son of Dynasty has a solid polytrack record and he is weighted to finish closer to the top weight TAARISH on their last meeting. He was beaten just under five lengths by the latter but is now 2kgs better off and is probably better suited to this track.
