Race 3: LET IT RIP(1)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: BESPOKEN(1)
Jockey: Donavan MANSOUR - Trainer: Johan Janse v/Vuuren

The Gauteng visitor BESPOKEN was considered good enough to make her debut in open company on the inside course at Turffontein, two weeks ago. She was outpaced in the early stages but made some late headway for 4th, albeit in a weak field. That experience would have brought the daughter of Oracy on and she should relish this rise in distance. Furthermore, she takes on her own age group for the first time and should make decent improvement.

Race 2: CAPE ARROW(3)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

There are some really smart juveniles on display in this contest and the formline could be worth following. The Kannemeyer inmate CAPE ARROW went off as favourite on his six furlong debut at Scottsville, recently. He showed pace before staying on for 3rd and would have come on with that experience under his belt. The well-related son of Silvano should make natural improvement and he will relish this step-up in distance. His good 2 draw is a major plus and visiting stable jockey Karl Neisius takes the ride.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

ALPINE RIDGE relished the extra ground as well as the switch to the polytrack when she produced a powerful late burst to get up and win under a big mass over nine furlongs, seven weeks ago. The light- ly raced daughter of Go Deputy had shown decent potential from day one and she gives the indication that she will continue to improve over further. She picked up a four pound penalty for her troubles but has loads more improvement to come and she will relish this extra furlong. She should handle the rise in class and Piere Strydom gets the ride.

Race 9: FUSSY BALL(5) (Each Way)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

FUSSY BALL has improved with each of his three local runs for his new yard and blinkers could make a big difference to the son of Admire Main. The Mike de Kock inmate made good late progress for 6th over 2400m on the grass last time and he is effective on this surface. He has scope for further improvement and he could enjoy this drop in distance.
