Race 2: HOPE DOWNS(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: OCEAN'S SWELL(11)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Darryl HODGSON

OCEAN'S SWELL showed very good improvement when she ran on well for 4th over this c & d, second time out. She finished just three parts of a length behind the 3rd placed runner JUST ROCK 'N ROLL and should continue to improve. Andrew Fortune retains the ride on the daughter of Jay Peg and she is an obvious contender.

Race 2: HOPE DOWNS(2)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Adam MARCUS

HOPE DOWNS has had many chances but she has captured her best form in recent outings and could finally get it right today. She finished a creditable 3rd over this c & d in a strong field last time and the runner-up gave that form plenty of respectability with a subsequent victory. She was caught late after setting the pace in her penultimate outing over this c & d and has strong claims in this line-up.

Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Mike ROBINSON

IMPERIAL GUARD is holding his form extremely well and he should have finished closer in his last sprint under Neisius. He is suited to this extra furlong and was outrun late into 2nd behind a subsequent winner over today's c & d in his penultimate start. The son of Imperial Stride meets another competitive field but has bright claims and can make amends.

Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER - Trainer: Mike BASS

STORM FAERIE has done well in recent outings since racing over ground and he represents an in-form yard. He was outrun late over ten furlongs last time and finished well clear of the 3rd placed runner, EXCLUSIVE KNIGHT last time out. The Mike Bass inmate should relish this rise in distance and he should go close in this line-up.

Race 7: DISNEY QUEEN(3) (Each Way)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE - Trainer: Carl BURGER

DISNEY QUEEN has been facing stronger and she has improved her formline in recent efforts. The four year old filly should have finished closer over this c & d in her latest effort and quite surprisingly she was docked two pounds after that performance. She now gets the services of a top jockey and can make amends with Andrew Fortune in the irons.
