Winning Form Best Bets

Race 2: JANE S PIDDY(4)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Richard FOURIE - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

MALACHITE SUNBIRD will make her experience around the turn count in this competitive contest. She continues to improve with racing and finished runner-up in her last two starts over this distance. The Snaith inmate did things the hard way at Durbanville recently and has strong claims of going one better today.

Race 3: REBEL'S IDOL(10)
Jockey: Brandon MAY - Trainer: Paul REEVES

REBEL'S IDOL clearly benefitted from the 4kgs apprentice allowance as she showed blistering toe and produced her career best effort over this c & d, four weeks ago. The daughter of Rebel King found good outside betting support when caught late that day and she should continue to improve. Her yard was victorious recently and she can go one better here.

Jockey: Greg CHEYNE - Trainer: Greg ENNION

MOONSONG MAGIC is a classy sort with excellent form and she is improving all the time. She comes here in search of a hat-trick after defying the odds under a big mass with an easy last win over a mile on this track. The daughter of Windrush has an impressive turn of foot and though she prefers an extra furlong to be at her level best, she loves this long run-in and has bright claims in this listed event.

Race 8: ACT OF WAR(1) - TOP BET
Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

The brilliant miler ACT OF WAR deserved a 13 week break after he clearly didn't see out ten furlongs when soundly trounced in the Derby on Met day. Still, the Dynasty colt showed his courage when he held on for 2nd but will be an entirely different proposition today. Of course, he won six on the bounce, including the Grade 1 Guineas over this c & d in his penultimate start. The Joey Ramsden inmate won't be fully tuned-up, with the KZN winter season on the horizon but he should still prove far too classy for today's rivals.

Race 6: JUDDERING ANGEL(2) (Each Way)
Jockey: Karl NEISIUS - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

This is undoubtedly the most competitive event on today's programme and obvious caution is advised. JUDDERING ANGEL has probably found nine furlongs too sharp for him in his below-par last two runs but loves this extra distance and will be a totally different proposition today. He has a solid c & d record and despite meeting the classy BIG ED on just 0.5kg better weight terms for a 1.25 lengths defeat on 21/01, the Ramsden inmate has fitness on his side and can reverse the form with the latter.
