Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Sean CORMACK - Trainer: Dennis DRIER

WILLIAM OF WEMBLEY had excuses for a below-par last effort when trying the polytrack. He produced a strong finish and was pipped at the wire over this c & d in his penultimate run. The son of Brave Tin Soldier will prefer racing on the grass and has lots of scope for improvement. He is unfavourably drawn but should still go close in this field.

Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Mark DIXON

LONDON CALL is plagued with issues but the son of Kahal has plenty of class about him. He got his career back on track when he drew off to easily beat a smart field that included subsequent winner Kochka over this c & d, seven weeks ago. The four-year old gelding was returning from a 30 week break so will strip fitter and he has tons more improvement to come. He will go very well in this field.

Jockey: Stuart RANDOLPH - Trainer: Duncan HOWELLS

TAKING CHANCES is above-average and her promising form underlines that. She is a gutsy daughter of Fort Beluga who ran on late to win her maiden in yielding conditions over this c & d second time out. She tried hard when beaten one length into second in a progress plate over 1300m at Greyville last time and has lots of room for further improvement. The bay filly makes her handicap debut and she should be competitive.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Sean TARRY

ORCHESTRATED is still improving and he boasts good recent Gauteng form. He was handed a four pound penalty for his solid last win over 1700m on the Highveld but clearly has more to offer and will benefit from pole position on his local debut. He should handle the rise in class and merits healthy respect.

Race 2: SIMLA(5) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Kumaran NAIDOO

The experienced runners could hold the key to the outcome of this contest and SIMLA caught the eye on her decent debut over this c & d, last Sunday. She recovered from a slow start when showing lots of speed and only tired late into a creditable 3rd after racing green. This run may come too soon for her but she has obvious scope for improvement and must be afforded plenty of respect.
