Race 5: SMART MART(2)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

STREET FLYER has produced two pleasing efforts on the Highveld and he is overdue his maiden victory. He was caught late in both those runs over 1450m on the inside course but will now be cherry-ripe on his third run after the layoff and still has room for improvement. He gets the services of Anton Marcus and should go close from pole position.

Race 2: LADIES CLUB(3)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

LADIES CLUB bounced right back to her best when she produced a strong finish and was beaten only a head at the line over 1450m on the inside track, three weeks ago. She will prefer racing on this standside course and has cracked a very good barrier position. Her yard has been among the winners recently.

Jockey: Anton MARCUS - Trainer: Joe SOMA

GRADUATION DAY just failed to land the betting coup on his debut over this c & d in late October. He showed lots of pace and was game before being pipped in the final stride by a fair sort. The son of Trippi was reportedly lame after that effort so would have benefitted from the 23 week absence and the experience. He is obviously an above-average type and has lots more to offer.

Jockey: Anthony DELPECH - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

KINGMAMBO'S LEGACY is an above-average stayer and he has kept his form well against older rivals in recent outings. He has placed over this c & d previously and is extremely well handicapped with 55kgs on his back. The Mike de Kock inmate should go very close against his own age group today.

Race 4: ROSALIE(6) (Each Way)
Jockey: Warren KENNEDY - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

The Gavin van Zyl yard holds a strong hand in this listed contest and ROSALIE with visiting jockey Warren Kennedy up, could be the right one. This daughter of Brave Tin Soldier has improved leaps and bounds since returning from a break and she stays well. She crushed her maiden rivals over a mile in her penultimate run but her next victory was even more impressive, albeit she won by just over a neck. The bay filly made her handicap debut over this c & d under a heavy burden of 61kgs and a wide draw, but she held on well to win, despite ducking outwards at the 250m mark. Admittedly, she takes on much stronger but is clearly way above-average and she shoulders a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs. Her pole barrier position further enhances her chances.
