Race 3: JUST AFRICA(6)
Jockey: Francois NAUDE - Trainer: Paul PETER

JUST AFRICA flashed plenty of speed when producing a decent debut behind a highly rated subsequent feature placed sort. The son of Just As Well was well beaten into 2nd over this trip that day but would have come on with the experience and should build on the outing.

Race 4: GOLDEN MAN(1)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Grant MAROUN

This is a competitive maiden contest and it could pay to stick with Piere Strydom & his mount GOLDEN MAN. 'Striker' partnered the Lateral gelding for the first time recently and the Grant Maroun inmate made steady progress to finish 4th, beaten three lengths at the line. He has shown promise in all four of his races to date and he will prefer today's extra furlong.

Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Dominic ZAKI

The speedsters SARVE and CROWN OF ROSES renew their rivalry but this time on handicap terms with the pair set to shoulder big masses as they drop in class. They were well beaten in a feature over 1160m at Turffontein recently but the latter won their individual battle. She also beat that rival when winning a feature over this distance in her penultimate run. The Zaki inmate receives 1kg from her younger rival and she should go close in this field.

Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Weiho MARWING

SILVER MATADOR is lightly raced and has shown useful ability in KZN. He enjoyed racing on the grass and he finished strongly for a close 2nd behind a highly regarded sort over this trip at Greyville, five weeks ago. The son of Toreador has lots more scope for improvement and he should love racing down this long straight.

Race 7: WENSLEYDALE(8) (Each Way)
Jockey: Ian STURGEON - Trainer: Leon ERASMUS

The Miss Tweedy formline over a mile at Turffontein could stand-up tall in this fillies and mares handicap and the four-year old WENSLEYDALE fared well in that event. She has hit some form recently and despite racing wide throughout her latest effort, she stayed on eye-catchingly for a close 5th, beaten two lengths at the line. She has half a length to find with the consistent DESERT DESTINY on that outing but is 1kg better off and now jumps from a much better draw. She shed her maiden tag on this track.
